- 3-4Worth WatchingSomething real. Keep an eye on it.
- 5-6Eyebrow RaisedA meaningful development worth understanding and following.
- 7-8Pay AttentionCredible evidence of a significant change in capability, risk, policy, or real-world impact.
- 9Stock the ShelvesA major escalation with serious practical implications. This does not literally mean buying seventeen years’ worth of canned goods.

Follow the evidence back to the strongest available source, not just the headline.
Label uncertainty
Say what is known, what is disputed, and what remains unclear.
Correct in public
If the evidence changes, update the rating and explain why.
Keep the temperature honest
Serious risk deserves serious language. Speculation does not become evidence because it is frightening or viral.
